Your airport-to-hotel trip is the first thing to get right. Here are the main options for both Tokyo airports.

From Narita (NRT)

Narita → Tokyo, approximate times and fares.
OptionGoes toTimeApprox. fare
Narita Express (N’EX) Tokyo / Shinjuku / Shibuya ~60 min ¥3,070
Keisei Skyliner Nippori / Ueno ~45 min ¥2,570
Airport Limousine Bus Major hotels 60–90 min ¥3,200
Keisei Access Express Asakusa / Ueno (cheapest) ~75 min ¥1,300

Pick the N’EX if your hotel is near Tokyo/Shinjuku/Shibuya; the Skyliner if you’re near Ueno/Nippori; a limousine bus if you have heavy luggage and your hotel is a stop.

Book the Narita Express (N'EX) →

From Haneda (HND)

Haneda is far closer to the city. Two easy trains:

  • Tokyo Monorail → Hamamatsucho (~15 min) → connect on the JR Yamanote Line.
  • Keikyu Line → Shinagawa (~15 min) → connects widely, including to Asakusa.

Both are cheap (around ¥500) and you can simply tap an IC card.

Tip

Flying into Haneda usually means a quicker, cheaper transfer. Whichever airport, sort your eSIM first so maps work the moment you land.
